This ACEO is watercolour and collage, on Arches 140 lb paper. Size is 2.5" x 3". First, a very tiny painting of waves was completed. (Think of something the size of a postage stamp!) Then I collaged it onto the paper with the actual tube of paint used and also a piece of the actual kleenex used to 'dab' my brush on. I had purchased a bag of goodies from someone on Ebay filled with little collage thingies. That's where the 'G' came from. After it was all coated with a coat of mat medium for protection, I mounted the entire thing on another piece of Arches 140 lb paper for some extra stability. This photo shows the ACEO and a side view showing the 3-dimensional aspects of it.
Collaged Pink Tulips
Another watercolour / collaged piece, this time with a miniature painting of tulips. (The shot here doesn't do the tulips justice.) Same procedure as the Blue Waves.
Summer Glory
Watercolour, painted on Unryu rice paper. (Painting on Unryu is like painting on wet kleenex!) After it's dried, it's mounted onto Arches 140 lb watercolour paper, then varnished for protection. Thus, avoiding having to put the watercolour under glass for protection. The usual ACEO size of 2.5" x 3".
More Birch Trees
Watercolour painted on Unryu rice paper, mounted on 140 lb Arches watercolour paper, then varnished. I like to leave the wispy edges of the rice paper on these tiny paintings.
Another Daisy
Watercolour on Arches 300 lb watercolour paper. 2.5" x 3".
Bridge in Ireland
An ACEO showing the Glenbeigh bridge in Ireland. Watercolour on 300 lb Arches watercolour paper.
