In April of 2007, I entered and won the Repurposed Show at EBSQart.  You had to use things in your painting that would otherwise go into the trash. It was juried by an outside juror, Jeff McIntire-Strasburg, of Treehugger.com.  This is a shot of the writeup at Treehugger.com  describing the winning entries.  There is also much more info on the Repurposed Show and juror at EBSQ by following this link.   And at my EBSQ page for this piece , there's some extra shots of it and a lot of info.

Lobelia and Friends Lobelia and Friends

I started this painting back in 2006 to practice brickwork. Then it was thrown onto the unfinished pile for a long, long time. When thinking about a (then) upcoming EBSQ show, I decided to finish this (because I've always liked the brickwork) and to fill it with blue lobelias and some red flowers for extra colour. I ended up liking it much more when it was finished so it no longer sits in the 'unfinished pile'. The main colour for this was Daniel Smith's Burnt Orange which is one of my favourites. It's a small piece, 6.5 inches by 8 inches. Lobelia and Friends won the Patron's Choice in that month's EBSQ FOTM Show.

Onions and Peppers Onions and Peppers

Painted on Arches 300 lb. CP paper, this painting is approximately 15" x 9". I like the 'Old World' look of this one and would like to try it again with a more traditional backdrop.

Un-named Floral Un-named Floral

Watercolour. Painted on Arches 300 lb Cold Pressed paper.  Approx. 11" x 14".  One of my earlier paintings, this was painted after reading through an online demonstration by Fábio Cembranelli at his webside.  What I like best about this painting is the colours.  Artist's collection.

Daisies Daisies

Watercolour. Painted on Arches 300 lb Cold Pressed paper.  Approx. 11" x 14".  Private collection in Rochester, New York.

When Iris Eyes are Smiling When Iris Eyes are Smiling

Watercolour.  Painted on Arches Hot Pressed paper.  Approx. 14" x 11".

Self Portrait Self Portrait

Don't look for my face in this one, you won't find it!  But it is definitely a self portrait of me - at the end of one of those very hot and very humid days that seem to fill our summers now.  This shows exactly how I feel.  Painted on Arches Cold Pressed paper.  Approx. 12" x 9.5".  This painting was accepted into a Cornwall Regional Art Gallery juried art exhibit.
